who is
Edward Brooks
?
Edward Brooks is Executive Director of the Oxford Character Project and an Associate Professor in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford, where he directs the Programme for Global Leadership. His work brings together leadership research, virtue ethics and character development with the design of formative programs at Oxford and at institutions around the world; Thinkers50 named him to its 2023 Radar of emerging management and leadership thinkers, and he works with Harvard’s Human Flourishing Program on research into hope. Against the idea that leading is merely a matter of technique, Brooks argues that good leadership grows out of character: out of virtues cultivated over time. His mentoring sessions are an invitation to talk, virtue by virtue, about what no business school fully teaches.
